The city of Luxor is located on the east bank of the Nile in southern Egypt. It stands on the ancient site of Thebes, the capital of the pharaohs in their golden age, from the 16th to the 11th century BC. Today, the city encompasses two ancient and majestic surviving monuments: the elegant temple of Luxor and, about 1 km to the north, the temple of Karnak. The tombs of the pharaohs in the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens are located on the west bank of the river.
Cairo, the great capital of Egypt, lies on the river Nile. In the heart of the city is Tahrir Square and the great Egyptian Museum, with its collections of historical artefacts including the royal mummies and gold objects of Pharaoh Tutankhamun. Near the city, Giza is the famous site of the pyramids and the Great Sphinx, which dates back to the 26th century BC. On the lush island of Gezira, the 187 m high Cairo Tower provides a view of the city.

Day 1 Italy – Luxor
Departure by direct flight to Luxor. Arrival in Luxor meeting with the assistant, clearance of customs formalities and transfer on board the motorboat.
Day 2 Luxor – Esna
Early morning visit to the Temples of Karnak and Luxor. Continuation of visits to the necropolis of Thebes (Valley of the Kings and Temple of Hashepsut ) Visit to the Colossi of Memnon. Start of navigation towards Esna and passing through the lock.
Day 3 Edfu – Kom Ombo
Morning visit to the Temple of Horus at Edfu. Navigation to Kom Ombo. In the afternoon, visit of the dedicated temples Sobek and Haroeris. Navigation to Aswan.
Day 4 Aswan
In the morning visit to the Great and Old Dam, and the Temple of Philae. In the afternoon excursion by felucca on the Nile.
Day 5 Aswan – Cairo
After breakfast optional excursion to Abu Simbel and visit of the temples. Afterwards transfer to the airport and departure for Cairo. Arrival and transfer to hotel.
Day 6 Cairo
After breakfast visit the famous pyramids of Giza and the enigmatic Sphinx. After lunch continue the visit to Memphis and Saqqara. Day 7 Cairo
Morning after breakfast is dedicated to visiting the Egyptian Museum, which has the richest collection of Egyptian and Greco-Roman antiquities in the world. Lunch and in the afternoon visit of the Muslim part of the city: the citadel with the Mohamed Ali Mosque. Stroll through the Khan el Khalili Bazaar.
Day 8 Cairo – Italy
After breakfast transfer to the airport in time for your flight back to Italy.
